Canon EMEA is looking for an EMEA Prepress Consultant in the EMEA Professional Services Continuous Feed department. As a Prepress consultant, you will initially be the central point of contact for the preparation and production of print samples requested by the various National Sales Organizations. As a result, you have close contact with the local sales and service organizations and the Canon Experience Centre in Poing where these print samples are produced. Prepress knowledge plays an increasingly important role in the digital print samples process. Especially for customers working in the Graphic Arts market. Impositioning, performance optimization and Colour management are indispensable to understand Graphic Arts customers' expectations and requirements and to utilize these into the professional preparation and production of colour accurate print samples. As an EMEA specialist, you will also be deployed to customers on-site to use your prepress and colour management knowledge to solve specific customer problems.

As an EMEA Prepress Consultant you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting customers for application development and migration to Canon technologies. Focus is on technical feasibility and business profitability.
  • Presenting and demonstrating related technology, feasibility studies and value propositions to a variety of audiences (e.g. DMU, Sales, IT, Production).
  • Preparing data, workflow and automation for print samples. Validating print quality against industry standards.
  • Assisting in demonstrations and customer visits to the Poing Customer Experience Center.
  • Sharing knowledge and providing workshops to customers, suppliers and internal staff on prepress workflow applications and the associated technology.
  • Translating technical capabilities into benefits and opportunities by helping with positioning.
  • Optimizing service efficiency by problem analysis of complete workflow processes and support during system integrations.
  • Participating in the implementation processes to ensure expectations are set correctly and delivered optimally.
  • Assisting in after sales service in areas where complex color knowledge is needed to complement the hardware skills in troubleshooting situations.

What we ask

For this role, you will have:

  • A degree in print technology and media engineering or directly related work experience that equates to perform on an academic level
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a prepress applications support role, or in a directly related work environment
  • Qualified for performing quality validations and certification audits (e.g. FOGRA Digital Print Partner)
  • Proficient knowledge of and experience in the printing and publishing industry
  • Technical knowledge of standard tools of the printing industry:
    • Enfocus PitStop (-Server)
    • Enfocus Switch
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat Pro, Distiller, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
    • Workflow or automation tools (OneVision, Prinergy, Prinect, etc.)
    • Imposition tools (Impostrip by Ultimate TechnoGraphics, Quite Imposing etc.)
  • Calculation skills to support controlling and sales with cost and business case calculations
  • Fluent English and German skills both written and verbally

You will need

We are looking for a team player with communication skills to cooperate with the marketing and sales department on a regular basis. And additional Presentation skills to perform presentations at demonstrations, events and conduct workshop for customer and user groups.
