Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:


  • Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

The incumbent may be required to travel approximately 3-5 times per year for a total of 30 days. Travels will be within Germany and internationally to support with meetings, trainings, site visits or similar.


Duties

The incumbent acts as the U.S. Embassy's primary point of contact for logistical visitor support. They dependently arrange logistical support, to include lodging, transportation, airport arrival and departure support, and the procurement of goods and services for United States Government (USG) visitors coming to Berlin as well as Hamburg and Leipzig's consular districts. They further assist agencies/offices with planning conferences.


The incumbent arranges visas for all USG employees in Germany including military entities for official travel to foreign countries. The position is directly supervised by the Travel and Visits Supervisor and reviewed by the Assistant General Services Officer. The incumbent is back-up for the Travel and Visits Supervisor position.


Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: please address this factor in your ERA application under major duties and responsibilities.


A minimum of three (3) years of prior work experience in the travel field or closely related service-oriented field are required.

Education Requirements:

Two years (or completion of other equivalent post-secondary educational program or degree) of postsecondary education (apprenticeship, vocational education or college studies) in tourism, hotel management, hospitality, or business administration are required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: please address both language requirements in your ERA application.
Position requires fluent language skills in English (reading/speaking/writing).
Position requires fluent language skills in German (reading/speaking/writing).


This may be tested.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources (HR) Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
