Your Mission
Reporting to the CTO this role leads the Software & Solutions team in setting strategy and leadership across a highly motivated & well respected Software team consisting of running & development of back office solutions & functions. Collaboration & Supporting Product / CPMS offerings across Ubi own and 3rd party products.
As a member of the Technology Leadership Team at Ubi the role sets direction & Strategy for all Software & Solutions aspects. Ownership of Software budgets to circa 600K Euros.
Direct line management function for SW Development Team (10 People). Set strategy & guidance to Engineering Manager Back Office & Data Team (7 People). Manage team composition of Ubi staff, Agency and Contractors in delivery of operational and development of. Continue growth in 2023 to hire an additional 5 people.
As Head of SW&S you are accountable for the professional development of the team, alongside building a suite of scalable solutions across multiple platforms, markets and geography’s utilizing in house teams, external providers and various contract vehicles.
This role is pivotal to providing affordability, speed and scale across both Ubi own products and Third Party equipment, whilst developing the working team to accelerate and ramp up in a coordinated and informed manner. Scaling the business from “As Is” today leader in on street with circa 6000 CP’s to 13,000 in 2023 and 200,000 by 2026. Providing best in class UX for on street and In City public charging
Your responsibility:
- Develop Competency of SW&S Team, Increase and expand structre and agillity to delvier growth plan thru to 2026 and beyond.
- Champion Software & Solutions for Ubi own platform and 3rd party alternatives to ensure best in class performance of platform availability, UX & Successful Charging. Support Integration of new products onto Ubi back end.
- Work closely with other Technology Leads in delivering seamless integration of new devices, features and functionality of platform. Provide guidnace and steering for Peers in Management Teams to develop & postion SW&S as a core pillar to the evoilution of Ubitricity.
- Stay ahead of the competition - Oversee Road Map of Innovations and actively nuture new ideas across team and wider Ubi. Represent Ubi at industry level events, take part in developing solutions for next generation charging – (EG V2X, Booking Services, Load Managment).
- Provide affordabillity and best in class UX across products and serivces withn the SW&S team.
- Lead Tech Stack delivery of software solutions
- Work across wider Shell teams to leverage synergies as Ubi integrates into wider Shell business. Ensure compliance to legal in country needs alongside Shells own BCR.
- Visibly Lead from the front with respect to HSSE
- Technical education to first degree level & preferably professional qualification in a Computing related subject
- Core knowledge and passion for the elctrifcation of the transport sector.

- Excellent Stakeholder management skills and abillity to drive and embed new process’s, solutions and change with an Agile approach. Inter personal communication and engagement skills, through virtual working environment.
- Minimum 10 years experience cross sector. Core competence across Software & Solutions.
